Terms of service

The agreement for using RaisePortal

A starting draft in plain language. Replace the bracketed items with your own company and jurisdiction before treating this as a binding agreement — it has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

Draft notice. This is placeholder legal text, not a reviewed contract. [Company legal name — PLACEHOLDER] ("RaisePortal", "we", "us") operates this service from [jurisdiction — PLACEHOLDER], and these terms are governed by the laws of [governing law — PLACEHOLDER].

1. What RaisePortal is

RaisePortal is a data room: founders upload documents, build views for different audiences, and share a link. We provide the software and the hosting. You own the documents you upload and the raise data you enter.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the company and raise information you enter, for keeping your password confidential, and for who you invite to your portal. The first person to sign up for a portal is its super admin and can promote or remove others.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use RaisePortal to share content you do not have the right to share, to send links to people who have not agreed to receive them, to attempt to access another portal's data, or to send unsolicited communications through the platform. A room link is confidential between the founder who created it and the people they chose to send it to.

4. Confidentiality of shared materials

Documents shared through an investor room are provided by the founder for evaluation purposes. RaisePortal does not claim any ownership over what you upload, and does not use your documents or raise figures for any purpose beyond operating the product for you.

5. Plans and billing

The Free plan is free indefinitely, within the limits described on the pricing page. Paid plans and templates are billed as described at the time of purchase. [Refund policy — PLACEHOLDER.]

6. Availability

We aim to keep RaisePortal available, but do not currently offer a formal uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. [Add an SLA here if one is ever offered — PLACEHOLDER.]

7. Termination

You may delete your portal at any time from company settings. We may suspend an account that violates these terms or the law. Deleting a portal revokes every investor link immediately.

8. Limitation of liability

[Standard limitation-of-liability language — PLACEHOLDER; have a lawyer write this clause before relying on it.]

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be noted at /changelog.
